Department of Mathematics - Nabinchandra College

The Department of Mathematics started functioning in the year 2006 under Assam University. Since its inception, both Honours and general papers have been taught by the Department. The Department offers B.Sc. in Mathematics. From 2018-2025, the Department offers CBCS courses. Currently, the Department has started with the FYUGP curriculum from the session 2023-24.

Teaching and Mentoring

Teachers in the Department engage students through teaching and mentoring in the classroom as well as beyond the classroom. Academic activities of the Department, apart from teaching, include organizing seminars, conferences, and other events for teachers and students.

Academic Foundation and Resources

The Department has fostered a strong foundation in both pure and applied mathematics, empowering students with analytical reasoning, problem-solving skills, and quantitative literacy essential for diverse career paths. The Department is equipped with software such as MATLAB and Mathematica for numerical computation and visualization.
