Building scientific foundations through chemical education and research
The Department of Chemistry was established in 2009 with the introduction of the Pass Course, aiming to provide students with a strong foundation in chemical sciences and to promote scientific temper among learners. From its inception, the department has focused on quality teaching, practical skill development, and academic discipline.
Recognizing the growing academic aspirations of students and the need for advanced learning, the department expanded its academic offerings by introducing the Honours Course in Chemistry in 2017. This milestone marked a significant step towards academic excellence, enabling students to pursue in-depth study of core areas such as Organic, Inorganic, Physical, and Analytical Chemistry.
The department is supported by qualified and dedicated faculty members who are committed to effective teaching, mentoring, and continuous professional development. Emphasis is placed on laboratory training, conceptual understanding, and the application of theoretical knowledge to real-world problems.
